What’s Cookin’!

May 6, 2010 at 9:00 am (Blogging, Recipes)

I love cooking. It’s much more interesting that homework and has more tangible rewards than watching a good movie or reading a good book. Meal planning, making shopping lists, getting a good deal… these things are the most exciting parts of my week! There are so many delicious recipes and I had a really difficult time deciding which is my favorite one to make. And so instead of writing about which one is my favorite one to cook, I’ll write about the one that I love to eat most. I could eat this forever and never get sick of it. When it shows up at parties, it doesn’t stick around long at all. I know it doesn’t disgusting, but give it a shot and I promise… it will change your life! This was actually the only request that Nick and I had for our wedding reception!

Pickle Rolls

1 pkg deli sliced ham
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese
1 jar baby pickles (dill or Kosher dill)
toothpicks

Spread cream cheese on each slice of ham. Place pickles end to end on the cream cheese side of the ham, and roll them up. Place toothpicks half and inch apart along the entire role. Slice between toothpicks. Serve cold.

Trust me on this one… I know it sounds disgusting, but it’s honestly the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. I cannot eat just one… or five. I’ll eat them until they’re gone.

They must be a Minnesotan thing, since everyone I’ve ever talked to them about NOT from MN is appalled at the thought of mixing the ingredients!

I just spent some time at a base up in ND on the Minnesota border, so these make some sense :) I love each of these ingredients and might have to try them together!
